On Safety
The world is safe; my Lord is King.
He plans and orders everything.
I see ahead my duty clear
And leave behind my earthly fear.
Praise God! Praise God! My path is set,
And I am on the journey yet.
Evening Plans
My hair is too long, and I must get it cut.
My breath is quite strong, so I'll keep my mouth shut.
OverDewing Things
This morning I was wired,
But now I'm really tired.
Yeehaw!
This verse
Is terse.
My Rhyme is Back! Yeeeeaaaahhhhh!
I baked you a key lime pie.
I left it on your steps because
I'm just so doggone shy.
By now, I suppose the single rose
I plucked from the yard to match the card
I laid with the pie to catch your eye
Is eaten by a rabbit.
And now with the rain, it's all in vain:
The card will be wet; the pan will sweat.
The moment is lost, the pie best tossed--
I may sneak back and grab it.
And that is the way things go,
And everything is as it was,
And no one has to know.
A Shout-Out to Ed and Beth-Annie
I wonder if you might take a look
And tell me what you'd do
If
this were an empty col'ring book
And colors were up to you.
